The iPhone 6 Plus review

The iPhone 6 Plus is still very popular among young people. The device has been on the market for a year now and has lost little popularity.

A well-considered choice; Apple's iPhone 6 Plus

Do you want the latest in technology and is your smartphone essential? If you answer this question with 'yes', it is never a question of whether you would like to switch to the very latest model. In that case, any progress matters. However, if you have less financial resources at your disposal, or if you are satisfied with a good, up-to-date, high-end phone - which is by no means a form of lagging behind - then the purchase of an iPhone 6 Plus may be the result of a considered decision.

Best Buy?

Now that Apple gives the iPhone 6 Plus a successor in the iPhone 6s Plus, the prices of the 6 will drop slightly. For many, this is the time to purchase the previous model. You can buy a current phone for just a little less money. But can that previous model still last for the coming years?

The best time to buy

There will be many successors in the coming years, this one year backlog will not be so relevant over a longer period. It is especially important that you are comfortable with your new phone now, and that you have an idea of how long you would like to use this smartphone before you buy your next one.

How good is the 6 Plus still?

To get an idea of what the iPhone 6 Plus can still do, it's best to look at the competition. The closest competition is formed by the top models of Samsung and HTC, but also by its own predecessor and successor. Now the 6 Plus is of such a size that the competition is somewhat limited. There is no predecessor available from Apple itself.

Competition
The big battle has been between Apple and Samsung for some years now, this conflict also has its variant in the field of the large smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is perhaps the most important and certainly the most famous competitor. If you compare the specifications and tests of both phones, you will notice that the difference is not very big. The Samsung has a much sharper and more natural display, the iPhone scores slightly better in terms of graphic performance.

The performance is comparable, although the Samsung has 3 times as much RAM. The phones also differ little in terms of audio reproduction and camera performance. For the real audio fanatic or photographer, however, both phones will only be a nice gadget, the performance in that area does not yet come close to the specialist equipment that is produced for this purpose.

Still Apple?
When you're looking for a new phone and want to go for the high segment, a choice between Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge seems to be the last hurdle. That what distinguishes the phones from each other may well ensure that your choice is not so difficult at all. Both phones have their own operating system, and apart from the fact that Apple and Samsung have a number of loyal users, the same applies to these systems. Once a system has been chosen, the switch to the other system is the biggest
doubt. Judging by the comparative tests and specifications, this is really the biggest difference between the two phones.

Is the iPhone 6 Plus a handy phablet?

The term phablet refers to the imaginary cross between a phone and a tablet computer. The iPhone 6 Plus is such a phablet, a small tablet that you can use to make calls, or a large smartphone. It is Apple's first step in this area, a step that will soon be followed up with the iPhone 6s Plus.

Dimensions
It is clear that the iPhone 6 Plus has a large screen, but what dimensions does Apple allow the 5.5-inch screen to result in? You can call the phone, with 15.8 by 7.8 by 0.7 centimeters, quite large. The weight of 172 grams is in line with this. How does this big phone fit in the hand, or should you say, on the hand?

In hand
With the iPhone six Plus you have the whole world at your fingertips and a piece of technology that allows you to run all current software applications smoothly, but then it has to fit in your hand. And that is a bit more difficult than with the size smartphone that you are used to. Now that is not such a problem in many cases, but if you unexpectedly want to make a phone call, remember that it looks a bit clumsy and be careful not to let your iPhone slip out of your hands. Even if you hold the phone in front of you, operating the phone with one hand is not for normal people.
