iOS 9: 10 unknown features for iPhone 6S
iOS 9 is the most recent operating system of Apple. It is used on the iPhone and iPad and not by other manufacturers than Apple. The latest version of the operating system has many new features. However, there are many that users do not know yet. You may not know the following 10 functionalities yet.
Battery percentage widget
It is always easy to see the battery percentage instead of a small battery icon. The percentage makes it clear how much energy the battery is still having. There is now also a battery percentage widget available that can be used in the message center. However, the battery percentage can also be viewed from the status bar. The widget is only available if the iPhone or iPad is linked to an Apple Watch.
Quick access to Wallet
Wallet is the replacement for the Passbook app. It is the app used to make payments with Apple Pay; Apple’s payment system. The app can be reached quickly by pressing the Home button twice. You can select the payment card directly. This functionality has only been present since the introduction of iOS 9 and should ensure that you can pay faster with Apple Pay.
Apple Pay locations in Maps
Maps app shows locations that accept Apple Pay. In the Netherlands these are not many locations yet, but this will change in the near future. Apple Pay is currently mostly used in the United States, but Apple intends to make the world pay with Apple Pay. If you do a search in the Cards app, an Apple Pay icon shows whether a seller accepts paying with Apple Pay.
Larger multitasking apps
The display of the multitasking view has been adjusted in iOS 9. The previews of apps are shown larger. The operation is still the same. Apps can be closed by sweeping them up. By swing to the left and right, the apps can be viewed. In previous versions of iOS, the multitasking view was still shown at the bottom of the screen.
Find my friends widget
The Find My Friends iOS app is a standard app in iOS 9. The app is already installed on Apple devices running iOS 9. In the previous iOS versions, the app had to be downloaded. You don't have to. You can decide whether you want to be found by your friends or not. This can be turned on and off in the settings. There is now a widget for available that can be shown in the Notification Center. This way you can see where your friends are at a glance.
Save web pages as PDF
Want to see a web page later? Save the page as PDF. You can do this when you visit a website in Safari. By pressing the Share button, the option will appear. The page is then converted to PDF and placed in iBooks. You can view the PDF again at a later time if you have more time.
Group notifications by app
If you normally received multiple notifications, they were arranged at the following time. This meant that several notifications of different apps were shown interchangeably. It is possible to group the notifications of apps in iOS 9. This way you can, for example, quickly view the overview of Whatsapp messages.
Add links
Directly from Safari it is now possible to create a note with a link in it to a web page. This is useful if you want to continue reading later without making a reminder or saving the page among your favorites. The link is shown in the note with a brief description and a thumbnail. It is also possible to add a location to the note.
Siri helps with memories
If you're working on the Notes, Mail, or Safari app but you don't have the time, you can ask Siri to remind you. The feature only works in these three apps. Siri then inserts the reminder into the Reminders app. In this app, you can then view and adjust the reminder if you want.

The iPhone PIN code had only 4 digits before, but that has now changed. The default PIN code of iOS 9 device now consists of a 6-digit code. The number of combinations increases dramatically from 10,000 to 1,000,000 different combinations. This makes it almost impossible for others to gamble the PIN and access the iOS device.
In iOS 9, a number of much-discussed features have been added, but there are also many features that many people do not yet know. The above features are not familiar to everyone. All features are an addition to the operating system even if they are not listed during the presentation. There is usually a lot of time spent by developers on the unknown features.
